PowerBook Duo 250
The 250 was the first Duo with an active-matrix screen displaying 16 levels of gray. It has a bright display with a larger hard drive than the 210 and 230, but is otherwise identical to the 230. The active-matrix screen makes this laptop a better buy than the 230, but it is also a little more expensive, harder to find, and uses a bit more juice while away from a power source. I'd recommend this machine to someone who doesn't necessarily care about a color display, but needs something brighter than what a passive-matrix screen offers. Thanks to Daniel Davis for the photo.
