Get Just the Right One at Your Apple Store
Cosmopolitan: 'Looking for a Fun Fling or a Long-term Relationship?'

NEWS: 1.4.08-- Exclusive! What's the hottest announcement Steve Jobs is going to make at Macworld 2008? Here's the new slogan. "Find Someone to Spend the Rest of your iLife With (and Get a Mac too!): Only at the Apple Store." It's iTunes meets eHarmony as Apple gets into the business of bringing future couples together, complete with new Concierge in red shirts.

Apparently, getting just the right one now means more than just, buying a computer. (It also kind of puts a whole new connotation to the phrase, "Mac Daddy," in all its various forms!).

AD: Always pickup the right one--an Apple product, not a date!--and the lowest prices and latest deals & bundles on each, from iPods to Macs, by going to Mac Prices.

Okay, we jest! This story isn't true at all. There will be no Macworld announcement by Steve Jobs about a new online dating service complete with Concierge in red t-shirts. But the story's not entirely false either. The best place to get a date today is none other than at your local Apple Store. No joke!

Since we have no exclusive reports or insider sources on what's forthcoming from Macworld Expo 2008, and all we'd be doing is recycling information that the other Mac news and rumor sites are already reporting (like the rumored-to-be-definitely released MacBook Pro mini), we decided to pass on a report from our local NBC news station in the San Francisco Bay Area.

And it's an "exclusive" because the other guys haven't reported it yet, to our knowledge.

Yesterday, on the 5:00p, 6:00p and 11:00p editions of NBC11 News (KNTV, based in San Jose, CA), anchor Lisa Kim reported that Cosmopolitan magazine has listed the Apple Store--one among a list of ten top venues listed--as the best place to get a date. Why?

According to the online edition of the article from the magazine, entitled, "The Best Places to Meet a Guy," Cosmopolitan set out to find the top locations that women can find their opposites hanging out at. First hot spot on the list? The Apple Store.

"Most guys are natural gadget lovers, and with sales of iPods and MacBooks skyrocketing, more men than ever are stopping by Apple boutiques."

They call them, boutiques. How un-high tech and non-Apple of a description.

"The vibe at the stores is conducive to man meeting too: You can check your e-mail among cuties, take a free workshop on anything from Photoshop to podcasting (a great opportunity to strike up a conversation), or just survey the, ahem, good-looking merchandise."

If you thought Apple fanboys were geeks, or even more so, the male employees that work at the Apple Stores (sorry guys... we support you-- we being fellow males and Apple fans too), this article has to be the most cheesiest nod to Apple ever.

It's like reading one of those teen 'zines.

Of course, anything that praises Apple and anything Mac gets our praise as well, and will subsequently get its own self-praise by being publicized and mentioned on these pages. Case in point, our "exclusive" story.

Don't be surprised though, if one month after the start of Macworld Expo 2008 on January 14th--the official start being Steve's keynote address the day after--Apple cashes in on this publicity and on February 14th (significance? Valentine's Day!) debuts, well, something related. Like maybe an iTunes bridal registry store? Or the acquisition of eHarmony?

Other places Cosmopolitan rates as hotspots for gals to meet guys? A Fortune 500 or tech company (like, Apple?), and a grad school coffeehouse (likely to be filled with Apple-branded notebook users).
