Summary of the major features to expect on the iPhone 15
The standard iPhone 15 models will replace the notch with the Dynamic Island, while the Pro and Pro Max displays will be made with a new technology – low-injection pressure over-molding, or “LIPO”. This new process will make the border size around the display 1.5 millimeters (from about 2.2 millimeters on current iPhones). Additionally, the Pro models will get a new design – titanium edges instead of stainless-steel – which is lighter and more premium. The inside of the iPhone 15 Pro is also redesigned for easier repair. The iPhone 15 and 15 Plus will look similar to the current models, but will have major camera improvements, a new A16 chip, and a USB-C connector. The Pro models will also get a touch-sensitive button with haptic feedback for the volume controls, the mute/ring switch, and the power button. However, due to engineering problems, the feature was cancelled and the buttons stayed regular. Price increases are likely, particularly outside of the US.
