The latest 14″ MacBook Pros with M3, M3 Pro, and M3 Max CPUs introduce several technical advancements over the previous-generation models with M2, M2 Pro, and M2 Max chips. The new M3 series is built on a 3nm process, offering better performance and power efficiency compared to the 5nm process of the M2 series. These upgrades include increased CPU and GPU cores, higher clock speeds, and enhanced graphics capabilities, particularly with the M3 Max, which supports up to 40 GPU cores. The M3 models also support up to 128GB of unified memory (with the M3 Max), an increase from the 96GB maximum in the previous generation. Additionally, the M3 chips feature improved Neural Engine capabilities for better machine learning performance. While the display technology remains similar with the Liquid Retina XDR, the enhanced GPU in the M3 models delivers better rendering and graphical output.
