Dell Admits Being A PC Maker Is A Dead End In New SEC Filing
BGR’s Brad Reed says there’s a good reason why Dell wants to go private and back out of the traditional PC business: Because it thinks selling computers based on Microsoft’s Windows operating system is quickly becoming a dead end, noting Forbes’ reference to a recent proxy statement filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission in which Dell outlines the risks of remaining a private PC manufacturer and paints a very grim picture for the PC industry overall, including, among other things, decreasing revenues in the market for desktop and notebook PCs and the significant uncertainties as to whether, or when, this decrease will end.
