PowerBook 5300ce
The 5300ce was the top of the line 5300-series. It shipped with 32 MB of RAM, a 1.1 GB hard drive, and a 117 MHz PowerPC processor (the same one used in the next-generation 1400/117). In addition, its screen displayed Super VGA resolution instead of the 5300c's 640x480 pixel resolution, and its 1 MB of VRAM let it display Super VGA resolution on an external monitor. This was clearly a more powerful 'Book than the other 5300's, but its very steep admission price kept all but the most hard core users away. On the used market, this top of the line 5300 can be had for nearly the same price as used 1400's, making the justification for its purchase difficult.
