Rumor: Apple to release updated iMacs and MacBook Pros soon

24-inch M1 iMacsApple Rumor Short Take: Ahead of a potential product launch at the end of this month, Apple’s iMacs and (some) MacBook Pros are in short supply. There has been a substantial delay since the last iMac was updated with an M1 chip over 900 days ago. Originally, Apple had planned to follow up with a M2-based iMac Pro, but due to cost concerns, this model has apparently been delayed. To replace the high-end iMac, the Mac Studio and Studio Display combination has been presented as an alternative. However, the anticipated 24-inch iMac refresh is said to be close to being released.

Additionally, the 13-inch MacBook Pro and some high-end MacBook Pro are both short in supply, indicating a possible update. These products are expected to be announced at the end of the month, shortly after Apple’s earnings on November 2nd.

Although the M3-chip based MacBook Air models won’t be released until 2024, progress has been made on new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros. Finally, the much-anticipated 32-inch iMac Pro is anticipated to arrive either late 2024 or 2025, making it the largest iMac in Apple’s history.
