Apple introduces the 8th generation iPad and new 10.9″ iPad Air

Apple updated the iPad today with the new 8th generation 2020 10.2″ iPad with an A12 bionic chip, 40% faster CPU and 2X jump in graphics. Support continues for the Smart Keyboard and Apple Pencil. Prices start at the same $329 as the 7th generation model.

Apple also released a new thin and light iPad Air. The new design features a liquid retina true-tone 10.9″ display, new colors, and edge-to-edge display. Touch ID has been incorporated into the top button. The Air includes a new A14 Bionic 5nm chip. CPU performance increases by 40% with a 2X increase in graphics performance. For the first time, Apple is including USB-C on an iPad. Prices start at $599, and the new iPad Air will be available in October 2020.

The new iPad Air will be available starting next month.

Apple also introduced the eighth-generation iPad, featuring the powerful A12 Bionic chip that brings the Neural Engine to the entry iPad for the first time. Starting at just $329, the upgrade packs even more value into the most popular and affordable iPad, featuring a stunning 10.2-inch Retina display, advanced cameras, and great all-day battery life. Customers can order iPad today, with availability beginning Friday, September 18.”
