How to use Apple Trade In to get an Apple Store credit for up to $500 on iPhones, $2470 on Macs, $480 on iPads, and $130 on Apple Watch

Get up to $2470 on the purchase of new or refurbished products at Apple using their official Trade In program. Trade in your old iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, or Android phone, and Apple will apply its appraised value toward the purchase of a new product. According to Apple, “Answer a few questions to find out your device’s trade-in value. Then give us your device and we’ll put the value on an Apple gift card (or e-credit) you can use anytime. If it’s ready to recycle, we’ll do it for free. Trading in your device is as easy as buying a new one. We’ll give you a prepaid trade-in kit or shipping label to send it off. Or you can bring it to an Apple Store. We’ll either give you instant credit toward the purchase of a new product or send your device on to our recyclers.”

Current trade in values, at the time of this post, are as follows:

– iPhones: Up to $500
– iPads: Up to $480
– Macs: Up to $2470
– Apple Watch: Up to $130
– Android: Up to $300

The fine print: “Trade-in values will vary based on the condition, year, and configuration of your trade-in device. Additional trade‑in values for iPhone require purchase of a new iPhone, subject to availability and limits. You must be at least 18 years old to be eligible to trade in for credit or for an Apple Store Gift Card. Not all devices are eligible for credit. More details are available from Apple’s trade-in partner for trade-in and recycling of eligible devices. Restrictions and limitations may apply. Payments are based on the received device matching the description you provided when your estimate was made.”
