ToyViewer Free Image Viewer/Resizer/Manipulator App Gets Tabs

Takeshi Oghara has released ToyViewer 5.5.1, a feature update of this superb free image manipulation app.

ToyViewer finally gets tabs, meaning that the app will no longer open a new window with each image modification executed, but a new tab will be displayed in the existing window instead. This function will only be effective when the newly displayed image is the same size as the original image. Additionally, in multiple tabs displayed in one window, the display position and the magnification scale are synchronized.

In order to comply with Apple’s App Transport Security (ATS) policy, the option to display a remote file by entering the URL has been removed, and there are some bugfixes.

ToyViewer is an amazingly useful app for viewing and resizing images and doing basic image editing. It’s been a core tool in my productivity suite of macOS apps for years, and gets used extensively in production, but anyone who works with images on the Mac should have it in their image enhancement and correction toolkit.

Quick starting is one of ToyViewer’s delightful features. The app can display many image formats, and can save in some formats. Image files in a folder or a ZIP / RAR archive can be displayed one by one in full-screen.

1. Image Formats

2. Save as Formats
