Apple Releases iOS 11 Public Beta; How To Get It
The official release of Apple’s latest mobile operating system iOS 11 is vaguely slated for the fall, but as of June 26, ordinary users can download an iOS 11 public beta.
To download the iOS 11 public beta, you must first sign up with Apple’s Beta Software Program, which is open to anyone with a valid Apple ID who accepts the Apple Beta Software Program Agreement during the sign-up process. If you have an iCloud account, that is an Apple ID and we recommend you use that. If you do not have an iCloud account or any other Apple ID, you can create one here.
Apple says:
“As a member of the Apple Beta Software Program, you’ll be able to enroll your devices to access the public betas and try out the latest features. You can provide feedback directly to Apple using the Feedback Assistant app.”
Apple also advises backing up your device before installing the public beta. That way you can resort to a previously-released OS version by restoring your device from the backup created before installing the public beta.
