Toshiba Announces New Satellite C And Satellite L Series Laptops: Built for Windows 10
Toshiba’s Digital Products Division has announced two new series of Windows 10 optimized laptops. Mac users who miss the discontinued 17-inch MacBook may want to check out the new 17.3-inch Toshiba units.
Both the Satellite C and Satellite L series are available in 15.6-inch and 17.3-inch screen size variants, and the Satellite L series laptops are the only laptops in their class to feature a branded audio solution outputting via stereo speakers tuned by audio experts at Skullcandy. The Satellite C Series laptops offer everyday essentials at a value price.
Satellite L
The Satellite L Series laptops are designed for Windows 10 and include hardware features ready to make the most of the new operating system. The laptops feature an integrated HD webcam and dual-array TruTalk microphones to enable voice apps like Cortana and Skype and a dedicated Cortana key offers easy access to Microsoft’s personal digital assistant for finding information.
Configurations include latest generation processors from Intel and AMD, up to 16GB of memory and up to 1TB storage, plus 802.11bgn or ultra-fast 802.11ac Wi-Fi for high-performance, cable-free networking, and the convenience of Bluetooth for connecting enabled phones, printers and speakers. Battery life ratings are up to seven hours on the 15.6-inch model and 5 hours 45 minutes on the 17.3-inch model, plus smart multitasking.
The Satellite L Series can be configured with up to a Full HD 1080p (1920×1080) IPS TruBrite display, and the option to play music or watch DVD movies with the built-in DVD SuperMulti drive.
To round out the entertainment experience, Toshiba and Skullcandy, along with DTS, aligned to tune the built-in speakers to Skullcandy’s audio spec, as well as integrating a custom sound profile with optimized settings for Skullcandy headphones and earbuds.
The Satellite L Series laptops are encased in Satin Gold Finish enclosure with a less-than-an-inch profile. A backlit and frameless TruType keyboard delivers a contoured key design with less key bounce, along with a modern buttonless touchpad with multi-gesture control.
Equipped with an HDMI output, two Super Speed USB 3.0 ports, up to two USB 2.0 ports, an SD card slot that supports cards up to 2TB for transferring digital photos, music and other files, and Toshiba’s USB Sleep & Charge technology, which enables the laptop to be used as a portable charging station for smartphones and MP3 players even when off, the Satellite L Series delivers all the laptop essentials and more.

Satellite C
The Satellite C series features an all-new brushed resin black matte finish attractively styled with clean lines, a spacious raised tile TruType keyboard and a slim profile measuring less than one inch thick.
The Satellite C Series is available in 15.6-inch diagonal HD TruBrite display sizes that can also be configured with touchscreens, as well as a 17.3-inch model. Powered by processors from Intel or AMD, and available with up to 1TB of storage and up to 8GB of memory, the Satellite C Series offers all the essentials needed for everyday use and more room for photos, music and movies.
The Satellite C Series is equipped with a range of ports, including USB 3.05 and USB 2.0 ports, HDMI, an SD card slot and a DVD SuperMulti drive, as well as 802.11n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and includes Toshiba’s TruTalk dual-array microphones to enable voice apps like Cortana and Skype, plus a dedicated Cortana key for easy access to Microsoft’s personal digital assistant. The laptops will initially ship with Windows 8.1 pre-installed and are eligible for a free upgrade to Windows 10 when it becomes available on July 29.
