Apple releases 16GB iPod touch for $229

Apple today released a 16GB iPod touch for $229, undercutting the 32GB models by $70. The 16GB iPod touch is available in Black or Silver and is differentiated from its siblings by the lack of a rear-facing iSight camera (although the front-facing Facetime camera remains) and the lack of a wrist loop.

The new 16GB iPod touch is in stock today at The Apple Store for $229 including free shipping.
