Lenovo’s ThinkPad Tablet Debuts
Calling it “The Business Tablet That Does It All,” Lenovo rolled out the latest iPad challenger on Tuesday.
The ThinkPad tablet includes WiFi now, with 3G connectivity “coming soon.” You can combine your email, social networking and instant messaging streams into one universal inbox with Lenovo’s SocialTouch app. Participate in superior, professional video conferences with front and back mounted webcams.
Optional accessories such as the ThinkPad Tablet Dock, ThinkPad Tablet Pen ($39.99) and foldable ThinkPad Tablet Keyboard Folio case ($100.00) help you stay productive. The ThinkPad Tablet Keyboard Folio protects the tablet when closed, and unfolds to support it at an angle behind a keyboard, while the ThinkPad Tablet Pen facilitates hand-writing notes and annotations, and add some precision to making onscreen selections.
Screen protectors and various hard and soft cases keep your tablet safe while you’re on the go. Stay powered on with the AC adapter or car charger.
Unlike Apple’s iPad, the ThinkPad Tablet offers decent I/O connectivity, with both full-size and micro USB ports (one each), a mini-HDMI port for external video, a dock connector, and an SD Card slot – tha latter providing full encryption.
