Sometimes You Need Two Screens: Using the iPad & the Kindle Together

This Lamp’s Rick Mansfield says the iPad has been a real game changer for im in many ways, noting that he still needs his Mac, but if a situation allows he’ll use the iPad instead. He’s found that he can create presentations on the iPad as well as carry electronic versions of textbooks and my course notes, but a pron=blem is that if the iPad is connected to a projector, he loses easy access to other materials. He briefly considered buying a second iPad, but settled on a much cheaper Kindle 3, and says he now understands why Kindle users are so crazy about these devices, quickly discovering that the Kindle is his preferred reading device – certainly preferred over the iPad, which he says can make his eyes sore after a while, and that he never could have imagined how much he’d enjoy reading with the Kindle.
