PowerBook 170
The 170 was the first PowerBook with an active-matrix display. Because of the display, the 'life' of this PowerBook has extended far beyond the others in its class. However, the lack of available memory means that this 'Book is only useful for basic applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, and e-mail. Other than the display, the 170 is nearly identical to the 145B, with the exception that the 170 includes a math coprocessor for the first time. The 170 is a better buy than the 145B, but it is also much harder to find.
