Apple Releases El Capitan OS X 10.11.1 And iOS 9.1
Apple has released the first bugfix update for El Capitan and the third for iOS 9, which are respectively available through Software Update.
Release notes for 10.11.1 cite the following fixes and enhancements:
– Improves installer reliability when upgrading to OS X El Capitan
– Improves compatibility with Microsoft Office 2016
– Fixes an issue where outgoing server information may be missing from Mail
– Resolves an issue that prevented display of messages and mailboxes in Mail
– Resolves an issue that prevents certain Audio Unit plug-ins from functioning properly
– Improves VoiceOver reliability
– Adds over 150 new emoji characters with full Unicode 7.0 and 8.0 support 9.1
Changes in iOS 9.1 include:
Hmmm. More emojis. Meh, IMHO. But whatever floats your boat.
No mention of a fix for the WiFi dropout bug that plagues the one of my Macs that’s upgraded to El Capitan. I’ll be interested in checking that out, but will wait until the Apple update server is a bit less crowded with early adopter traffic.
