Apple ODM Supplier Pegatron’s China Subsidiary Reportedly Recruiting Workers For New iPhone Production

Digitimes’ Amanda Liang and Adam Hwang report that Protek (Shanghai), a Chinese subsidiary of longtime Taiwanese Apple ODM Pegatron, commenced recruitment of workers at the end of June in preparation for starting production if new model iPhone devices in August, according to China-based IT Times.

Liang and Hwang cite the report noting that recruiting will continue until October, with Protek planning to hire 40,000 workers in total, noting that the new iPhones will be launched in September with global shipments projected to reach 25 million units in the third quarter and 50 million units in the fourth quarter.
