Samsung Electronics Bests Apple in smartphone consumer satisfaction With U.S. Consumers
The Korea Times’ Kim Young-won reports that Apple’s frenemy and main archival in smartphone sales nailed down top spot in the American Consumer Satisfaction Index for 2014, beating out Apple’s score notwithstanding hot sales of the latest iPhone 6 and 6 Plus phablet.
Samsung’s score in the survey rose 6.6 percent from 76 last year to 81 in 2014, while Apple slid slightly by 2.5 points year-over-year to 79ninnthhe ACSI survey of 70,000 U.S. consumers over the past year.
Kim cites market analysts claiming that that Apple has lagged in offering several popular smartphone features, such as a waterproof smartphone case for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus and suggest that the 6 Plus’s sales performance has not been as strong as Apple had hoped, while Samsung’s Galaxy S5 and Note 4, wooed customers with features likea water-resistant body, better cameras and high-definition displays.
