RIP Macworld Magazine
9To5Mac’s Seth Weintraub reports that International Data Group (IDG) is shutting down Macworld Magazine, the longtime Apple enthusiast periodical, according to tweets by staff and conversations he’s had with personnel.
Another print publiucation bites the dust. Back in the early ’90s when I first began using Macs, I was a Macworld subscriber, and living in a remote rural area its pages were my main windows on the, well, Mac World, and its arrival was eagerly awaited each month.
However, I have to concede that after we finally got the Internet here in 1997, I stopped buying Macworld. I still subscribe to three car magazines, but computer topics are different and better accessed online. Actually, I’m amazed that Macworld kept publishing in hard copy for this long.
Thanks for the memories.
